3DS liability shift is only a remedy against disputes with a fraudulent reason code. You can still receive chargebacks for consumer disputes on 3DS transactions, which you should defend.
Depending on the 3DS response, a liability shift may apply.
In some instances, the bank is not able to verify the 3DS authentication, there is no liability shift protection, and a chargeback with a fraudulent reason can be exercised.
In the Adyen Customer Area, we display a tick mark whenever a transaction has liability shift protection.
