The following needs to be integrated in order to go live with MarketPay:
- On-boarding: integrate the on-boarding API to onboard merchants.
- Split payments: provide split payment in the payment request to the Adyen payment platform.
- Payouts: integrate payout calls using the MarketPay API.
Note that MarketPay does not provide the frontend for sub-merchants. This should be created and maintained by the marketplace.
See the MarketPay documentation for details.

Sub-merchants can be paid out by setting up a regular payout schedule daily, weekly, or monthly. Another way to pay out is to set the payout schedule to manual. With this setup a payout can be initiated by making a payout call to the MarketPay API.
In addition to the payout functionality, it is also possible to move funds between accounts. This is called Balance Control.

With MarketPay, Adyen manages most KYC requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) in line with PSD2 regulations.
We make it easy for sellers to sign up, but then check their identity at a pre-defined point based on factors such as the marketplace business model and country.
For more information, refer to the MarketPay documentation.

There are some minor differences in the way full and partial refunds and chargebacks are managed:
Full refunds are processed according to the original split. For instance, if $50.00 was deposited into an account and a refund occurs, this $50.00 will be deducted from that same account.
Partial refunds are taken from the marketplace's account, as we don't know which part should be taken from which account. However, if a split is defined in a /refund call, the refund will be processed according to the split.
Chargebacks can be configured to be fully taken from the marketplace's account. Another configuration for chargebacks is for the chargebacks to be taken from the sub-merchants accounts, according to the original split.

Under PSD2, marketplaces and trading platforms will either have to accommodate their payment services with a licensed third-party payment provider such as Adyen, or obtain a third-party payment processing license.
Adyen is PSD2 ready. Please contact Support so we can assist you in being prepared for the future.
PSD2 becomes effective in January 2018.
